On Friday, after my last test paper(EMI/EMC), I joined the SP NCC(SEA) in their kayaking expedition trip to Pulau Hantu(Ghost Island). There were a total of 16 participants including of all the helpers. That night, we took cab to Poly Marina where we will set off on the Sat morning. We were guided to "LASER", which is one of the lecture rooms for SP Marine students. We put our belongings in there and everyone had a short introduction of themselves in the room. Then all of us,except for the organiser, went to the Prata shop near there to eat prata of course. I ordered two plain and one egg. Rather nice and delicious but the price was also quite expensive. After the supper, we all walked back and took a bath before we went to sleep. But before that, we had to listen to SP Adventurers briefing on some rules, the plan, things to bring and not to bring and things to waterproof. That night, because i did not bring my jackets, i couldn't sleep well in the extremely cold lecture room. In addition I missed my bed very much.

Next day morning, I got to wait up at 6.30am as planned. Although sleepy but have to force myself to wake up. After washing my face, I went to help out to prepare breakfast(Bread with Butter,Kaya and Mandarin Flavour Jam and Milo) and taking out things that need to be bring over to the island. To my surprise, SP Adventurer are very troublesome. I didn't know that to kayak to another island, every single thing that is to bring over have to be waterproof. And the waterproofing is not as simple as you think. I have to take black gabage bag, cover them and using a special technique to tie the bag. I was like "WHAT THE HELL, WHAT FOR MAN??SO TROUBLESOME!!" But since we asked the experts to lead us, I have no choice but to follow their instructions.

After all the waterproofing, finally we can set off. I was rather excited as I love kayaking. I was paired up with Guan Zhong which of course I was happy. He is the only close friend I know there. During the trip, we were very lucky that we did not capsize but water still somehow got into our kayak. Maybe is either we kayak too fast or I was too rough.Hee....It was quite fun during the kayaking. After 3-4 hours of kayaking, we finally reach the island.

Upon reaching the island, we have to carry the equipments which we brought over from Singapore using the power boat to our camp site. After which we were instructed to put our kayaks and paddles properly, set up our tents, tie rope onto trees so that we can dry our life vest. After all had been done, everyone took the bread we prepared early in the morning to eat as their lunch. At around 4+ when their is nothing to do at all, most people went to took a nap. I took my nap under a shelter and Guan Zhong have to bear with my snoring.Ha..Sorry buddy. When I woke up, I went to explore around the island and picked up some seashells. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any seashells that is special and really nice. However, I still brought some back. By the time I went back to the camp site, Guan Zhong and some helpers are already cooking the rice. Too bad, the rice was not very nice. It was around 3/4 cooked but I still ate it with sardines, hotdogs and baked beans. After dinner, everyone went back to do their own things again. As for me again, I did not do much. I went to rinse myself with water at the toilet before going to sleep at the shelter again in my wet clothings.

That night was a very bad night for me. I got scared by something moved in the bushes beside the shelter, couldn't sleep comfortably and worried about centipedes. Thus, I asked Guan Zhong, who shared the same bench as me, to go to other place to sleep. In the end, we chose the overturned kayaks. Ha..Rather pathetic but got no much of choice. Although we changed our sleeping location, both of us still did not sleep well but manage to pass through the night. Phew~

Finally it's last day. I went to wake everyone up so that we can have breakfast and start to pack up and move off. However, after the lunch , everyone seems to be a bit lazy, including me. I went inside a tent to sleep instead. Ha....But when I see Guan Zhong packing up everything himself, I felt quite guilty. So I also woke up to help him in packing up the things. Not after a while, everyone also start to pack up, keep the tents and prepare to kayak back to Singapore. But on my trip back, I was seperate from Guan Zhong. I was paired up with Guan Zhong's friend, Biao Yong(I dunno correct or not) while he was paired up with a guy, which almost everyone disliked but to him he was alright to him.

On the trip back, due to the strong wave and my rough movements, i got a lot of sea water into my kayak. My kayak almost became a submarine.Ha...Biao Yong was like "Why so much water inside". HA...So I have to help him clearing the water out of the kayak. As for Guan Zhong, I was quite impressed that he was manage to coordinate and communicate well with the Indian, who we called "BLACK". When we reach back to Singapore, we have to take the kayak, paddle and life vest to rinse with clean water and put it back. The equipments also have to be unpacked, washed and keep them. After washing up and de-briefing, finally I could take a bath and go home.

When I reach home, my mother said something that made me scolded her when she was washing the kitchen. She actually asked me to help her to wash the kitchen so that she can finish everything fast and allow me to bath. I was like so shocked and stunted. "Why I have to help you wash!? I just came back from my trip and I am tired and you still asked me to help you with the household!! Instead of asking younger brother, who is busy playing game, to help you, u ask someone who just came back from kayaking to help you?? Are you crazy or what~~!!!" I scolded her. I know a bit rude but that's my attitude toward my Mum.

Well..anyway, the trip I went was alright just that the time was too long and too much of free time doing nothing.
