one week of holiday is coming to an end soon...quite tired as i have been going to school almost everyday for the whole week(Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri) to prepare things and teach the year 2 student on Flight Simulator 2004. Kian Boon and I was assigned to teach the year 2 at least the basic of flying the trainer aircraft and see, learn and use the instruments available on the panel. Why we must do that?? well...Both of us are in the year 3 and the only batch who know how to "fly" the aircraft. So before we graduate with the skills, we have to impart these skills to new batch of students so that when got any exhibition, they can demostrate properly and not anyhow crash the aircraft.

So on Wednesday, the first training day starts. Had a short briefing with 7 guys and a girl. quite jialet for the gal lah actually..haha...the only gal and her only partner also never turn up. then kian boon and i gave them a demo and introduce them the instruments, hoping to get their interest up. we taught them quite a number of things so i expect that they will forget some of them lah. so after all the introductions, we left them alone to free access or to go home or wherever they wan to go.

Thursday is the actual training day. We taught them some more things of course and request them to pass their first solo using the software. in the process, we discover a few who is quite gd but got some is rather slow. so for the slow learner, we have to spend more time with them and keep on reminding them what to do. if use mouth cannot work, we help them adjust this and that to lessen their workload so that they can concentrate and master a few things first. i guess the slowest was the gal. well..i dun tink she stupid or wat lor...anyway it's not their nature to play game well...so obviously she will have to struggle a bit more than some guys. but i quite admire her courage, endurance and learning attitude...not for once i see her feel like giving up. really hope that she can master this flight sim and be first girl in the course to be able to fly it. i bet she will impress some of the people at exhibition.

Yesterday after sch, i went to meet Louis and Kenneth to Causeway point to watch a movie, GOAL. It a movie about soccer. It was quite nice to me and seeing the skills shown by the players really make me very excited. Also got to see some real soccer stars in that show(such as Raul, Beckham and Zidane). The show is about the story how a soccer guy with talent got in Newcastle United and in the process, the difficulties he met in trying to play in that team. Quite a recommended show to guys who loves soccer. one thing i learn about this show and was said by a guy.

that guy standing at half court line and ask the player to run as fast as he could to the goal post when he say "GO". at the same time, he will kick the ball towards the goal. obviously that guy cannot reach the goal post before the ball. so after a few attempt, the guy told the player

guy: What do you notice??
player: You can score of half court? (LoL!!)
guy: No. You can never run faster than the ball, so pass the ball
player: icic.

Friday is the last training day for them. so for those who passed first solo yesterday, we teach them more things which are beyond the test area such as Autopilot which are restraint to be use during exhibition. Some will fly the first solo again as their performance previously was not satisfied, so we want them to do a better job themselves. for those not doing very well, we create a few training lesson of our own and ask them to practise it over and over again till we satisfied.. so basically that's all for training we had for the year 2 student.
