Late evening, i met up with Meizhen, Bh and Harry for dinner at 6+pm at Dohby Ghaut MRT station . We decided to go to the cafe i recommended to have our dinner. So after we met up, i lead the way to bring them to the cafe. Well...it was around 10-15 mins walk from mrt station to the cafe.
The reason i recommend this cafe is because I tink this cafe is cool. Not only you can have your meals inside, you can also play board games. Yes is board games and wide variety of them. From Chinese chess to Risk to Monopoly to Pictionary and many many more. The environment is quite good as is it is small and cosy...The staffs are helpful, friendly and provide good services. Price of the food may be cheap or may be ex...depends on what you order... They even sell snacks so that you can play and eay something at the same time. Btw when you go in there, you need not really eat. You can go in for the sake of playing board games with your friends only. The price will be $2 per person per hour. Within that hour, you can change as many game as you want if i am not wrong. If you need assistance is some board games you are not familiar with, the helpful staffs are always there to help you. If they do not know how to play, they will recommend some games which they know and teaches you.
So when the 4 of us went in, the staff brought us to a table for 4 and gave each of us a menu. All 4 of us ordered the set dinner which cost $13.90 each. The set dinner consists of 1 choice of either fish and chip or chicken cutlet, 1 drink of almost any type available in the menu, 1 soup of the day and 1 brownie with one scope of vanilla ice-cream. So actually is quite reasonable...while waiting, we selected a game called pictionary. Actually none of us has any idea on how to play it. so we tried to understand the game by reading the manuals. we did not call for help becos we want to play to our rules..haha...so basically this game, one person will be drawing a picture or using hand signs to describe the word given to him. another person will have to guess wat is it. pretty fun as you can see all sorts of funny actions and answers given...then drinks were served to us, next was our soup, followed by main dish and lastly the brownie with vanilla ice cream. we played and eat at the same time basically..then we left at 8pm as bh wan to catch the last episode of the 9pm chinese drama while mz is meeting her friends.
when we pay the bills, it cost $55.60 + 10% of service charge $61.00+. I even signed up a memebership which can entitle me to 10% discount the next time i go there to eat. well...guys if u are interested, please go take a look and have a feel for yourself. the picture below is the map and it will tell you where it is located.
