Went to cycling at pulua ubin early friday morning with my poly friends which includes thomas, lih ping, francis and azhar...thanks to lih ping who droves us to changi jetty from bedok MRT station...when we reaching changi village, lih ping, thomas and i ordered a "day meal" which consist of sandwiches, a small drink and a cookie..then sandwich was quite nice actually...as for azhar and francis, they ordered other thing in the hawker centre...then we took bump boat from the jetty to pulau ubin..the trip cost us $2 per person...the ride was ard 10-15mins i tink...at that moment, it remind me of scuba diving...we also took a bump boat to our diving site but that boat was much slower than this..when we reached the island, we went ard to look for bicycle for rental..btw, we were quite worried that we might have to use our leg to explore the island as there were many ppl going to ubin on vesak day...fortunately, we were still able to find a shop with some gd bicycles..it cost $7 per person for whole day...very cheap than east coast man...after obtaining a map, which was rather useless to us, we set off to explore the island...
it has been some years back since the last time i visit this island...but this time when i visit the island, i got a confuse feeling..i dunno i shld envy the ppl staying here or feel happy that i can stay on mainland...as i cycle, the simplicity of the ppl life is so wonderful for me..i tink at least staying away from main island, they will not know wat is going on ard the world especially the fashion...as such to them, as long the item meet the purpose, they dun mind whether it is brandless or cheap...well, whether true or not i dunno but at least i hope life will be like this for them...as for the bad side, they may not have night life as most of the road are not fixed with lamp post...and no shops is going to be open till that late...thus when they wanna get some stuff, they have to visit the mainland...maybe the last thing i am concern is that they may also get diease easily as i can see a lot of drains with stagnant waters..in addition, there is no hospital for them...perhaps their body are immune to all kind of diease they may encounter on the island...
so after cycling for a few hours on up slopes and down slopes, we stop at the information kiosk as it was raining heavily...we returned the bikes after the rain began to stop and return to mainland...
i tink i will wan to visit this island again...
